There’s a NEW beer on tap at Brewery Becker, the East India Porter, aka EIP, was the porter sibling to the IPA. Significant dry hopping was added for the sea voyage.
Its not as widely known even though it was produced and sent in far
greater quantity than IPA. Because it was the drink of the solider and
laborer, it never had the glory IPA did.
When people wrote and told their stories, they where usually about the officers, who drank pale beer. Drinking in the UK was a decidedly class based affair. They not only drank at different places, but drank different styles of beer.
